        This is a fantastic article on how to start your first Dwarf Fortress.

        It includes pictures and shows you how the commands work. I suggest playing in windowed mode so you can view things more easily.

        We could even play a succession game once you guys have learned how the game

        What a ridiculous game. Sure, it's all in ASCII graphics, but I haven't played a game this deep or well-programmed in AGES. It's hard to learn how to play, but the payoff is so worth it. Here's an example of something I did in adventu
